David Sarabia Bio

City: Los Angeles (Boyle Heights)

Year joined LAMS Club: about 3 to 4 years ago.

Favorite Modeling Subjects: Ships

First model I ever built: In 1964 a Hawk model of the F106 Delta Dart was given to me to build by local boys club run by the Catholic Church.

Most challenging model kit I ever built: Wooden sailing ship “The Seealder” (German: the Sea Eagle). The plank on frame was the most challenging part of the model followed closely by learning to tie a clove hitch to the standing shrouds.

The finished model kit most proud of: I have not built it yet but the “Harry and the Henderson” diorama is a close second.

The worst project I ever did: The vacuum form model of WW1 Zeppelin by Testors

Did you ever destroy a model, yes if so how did you do it? WITH MY FOOT, IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER TALKED BACK TO ME AT 2:00AM. I am better now.

Have you enter any competitions? YES

If yes which ones: Tamyia CON, Orange CON, SCAMS, IMPS national, Planes of Fame Chino and valley con ; I have place at all of the contests that I have entered except valley con

What is the best part of the club for you? : Show and tell, demo and just talking about models. Oh I forgot the DOUNUTS!!!!
